Boats and Buoyancy
We have begun a new science unit called Boats and Buoyancy. The students will be learning about sinking and floating, different waterproof (and not waterproof) materials, boat stability and different types of boats. After learning about these various topics, the students will use their knowledge to create their own boat made out of recycled materials. Thank you to everyone who brought in some recycling! Keep checking back here for more pictures as we work through this unit.

Our latest art project!
Self Portraits
Students in 2HZ have been working very hard at learning to draw realistic facial features. We have been using art instructors on YouTube as a source for most of our learning. In this slide show, you will see the students' first attempt at a self-portrait (drawn during the first week of school) and their second attempt after practicing their newly acquired skills. The boys and girls should be very proud of their final piece and the growth they have shown!
Place Value Tutorials
In order to demonstrate their knowledge and help out some of the younger students at Evergreen School, the boys and girls each created a video tutorial to show how to represent numbers using base ten blocks.
